Breaking Barriers to Certifications

For many Metro Tech students, the hardest part isn’t finishing their program. It’s what comes next. Certification exams like the NCLEX can cost hundreds of dollars, and for students who have already done everything right by completing their coursework, clinicals, and countless hours of study, that fee can feel like an insurmountable barrier.

Thanks to the generosity of community support, the Metro Tech Foundation was able to step in and provide that crucial assistance. Over the past three months, we helped 27 Practical Nursing graduates from a class of just over 60 cover their NCLEX fees. Because of that assistance, each student was able to sit for their exam without delay.

Today, there are 27 more nurses heading into the workforce where they will make a difference in clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities across the Oklahoma City community.
